rochig drawings
My drawings are often as elemental as this: abstract color displays of lines and circles, exploring my own perceptions of experiences and attempts to generate compassion around them. Drawing and painting can provide a meaningful opportunity to integrate a complex experience into something beautiful and nonverbal (without judging it “good” or “bad”), translating an experience into a new form for others to experience wholly for themselves. I often refer to my drawings as Rochig, which in Tibetan means one taste. They are drawings of experience; taking in, wholly, all layers of thought and feeling around an experience and offering them as One.
